Workforce Solutions

Opportunity Austin partners with Workforce Solutions Capital Area and Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area through the Workforce Industry Insights initiative, a regional collaboration designed to support Central Texas employers and strengthen talent pipelines in high-growth industries. Through white papers, case studies and data reports, the partnership provides employers, stakeholders and decision-makers with insights on hiring trends, workforce needs and proven strategies across sectors such as advanced manufacturing, information technology, healthcare, mobility and infrastructure. The initiative highlights how coordinated efforts between economic development, workforce, education and community partners help the Austin region meet industry demand and connect more residents to family-sustaining career pathways.

TRIO

Opportunity Austin partners with Texas State University’s TRIO programs to connect pre-collegiate students with in-demand career pathways across the Austin region. Through career workshops, employer panels and site visits, students from regional school districts gain firsthand exposure to industries such as construction, engineering, technology and advanced manufacturing. The partnership helps bridge the gap between education and workforce opportunity by connecting students, families, employers and education partners around the skills, experiences and career choices that can support long-term success.

Samsung

Opportunity Austin serves as the workforce intermediary supporting Samsung Electronics’ strategic workforce plans in Central Texas. As Samsung continues to invest in Austin and Taylor through its CHIPS incentives award with the U.S. Department of Commerce, this partnership helps strengthen the region’s semiconductor talent pipeline and connect local residents with meaningful career pathways in one of Central Texas’ most important and fast-growing industries.
