There were approximately 67,580 available job postings during the February 2025 reporting period, an increase of 7,963 from 59,617 postings in January 2025. There were 28,914 first-time job postings, an increase of 7,453 compared to the previous month. New job postings in February 2025 represented 42% of all available postings—an increase of 6 percentage points from January 2025. New job postings increased by 35% in the Austin and San Antonio metros and by 33% in the Houston and Dallas metros.
Approximately 13%, or 8,700, of all available job postings during the February 2025 reporting period fell under Management Occupations, while 6,764 postings fell under Healthcare Practitioners and Technical, and 2,173 fell under Healthcare Support. This combined total of 8,937 healthcare-related postings reflects continued strong demand for healthcare talent in the region.
A total of 2,001 postings offered signing bonuses, an increase of 77 compared to the previous month.
Fifty-six percent, or 38,201, of available job postings pay an annual median wage between $25,000 and $75,000. Of these, 49% (18,523) require a high school diploma as the entry-level education, while 15% (5,718) require at least a bachelor’s degree.
There are about 998 internship positions posted, either in-person or hybrid. The top three companies with the most internship postings remain Amazon, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, and the State of Texas.
There were approximately 2,895 jobs posted within the Austin venture capital, startup, scaleup, and innovation ecosystem on the Austin Ecosystem Dealroom Platform as of February 12, 2025.

The total number of unemployed individuals in the Austin MSA is about 46,400.
