There were approximately 67,588 available job postings during our June 2025 reporting period, a decrease of 1,024 from 68,612 postings in May 2025. New, first-time, job postings totaled 27,484 in June and represented 41% of all available job postings, a 1% decrease since May 2025. Regional new job postings decreased by 1% in the Austin-San Antonio metros. Houston-Dallas metros had an increase of 1% compared to the previous month.
- Approximately 12%, or 8,316, of all available job postings during June 2025 fell under Management Occupations, while 6,722 postings fell under Healthcare Practitioners and Technical, and 1,990 under Healthcare Support. This combined total of 8,712 healthcare-related postings reflects strong demand for healthcare talent in the region. Sales-related postings totaled 7,682 and Computer and Math-related postings totaled 7,233, each accounting for 11% of all available job postings this period.
- A total of 1,758 postings offered signing bonuses, a decrease of 58 from the previous month.
Fifty-six percent, or 37,377, of available job postings pay an annual median wage between $25,000 and $75,000. Of these, 46% (17,176) require a high school diploma as the entry-level education, and 19% (7,218) require an associate or bachelor’s degree.
There are about 664 internship positions posted, either in-person or hybrid.
The top three companies with the most postings remain Amazon, State of Texas, and UT.There are 2,878 jobs posted within the Austin venture capital, startup, scaleup, and innovation ecosystem on the Austin Ecosystem Dealroom Platform for this reporting period.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Austin MSA reported the unemployment rate at 3.3% in June 2025, unchanged from from the previous month. The total number of unemployed in the Austin MSA is about 50,900, also unchanged from the May reporting period. In June 2025, there were 16,688 more available job postings than the unemployed.
