Governor Greg Abbott, Opportunity Austin’s Ed Latson, and other economic development officials have been traveling to key global markets like South Korea, the UK, and Japan to highlight Texas as a prime destination for business. These efforts have led to increased foreign interest in Central Texas, with international companies considering investments in areas like Georgetown, Taylor, and Temple.

The focus on attracting foreign direct investment has already yielded significant results, including Samsung’s expansion in Taylor and new steel manufacturing operations in Temple. As Opportunity Austin ramps up its global marketing efforts, the goal is to position Central Texas as a competitive hub for a diverse range of industries, from semiconductors to life sciences.
