There were approximately 67,668 available job postings during our April 2025 reporting period, an increase of 3,210 from 64,458 postings in March 2025. There were 28,135 first-time job postings, an increase of 1,209 compared to the previous month. New job postings represented 42% of all available postings in April 2025, holding steady from March 2025. New job postings increased by 4% in the Austin and San Antonio metros and by 3% in the Houston and Dallas metros.
- Approximately 12%, or 8,174, of all available job postings during April 2025 fell under Management Occupations, while 6,208 postings fell under Healthcare Practitioners and Technical, and 2,071 under Healthcare Support. This combined total of 8,279 healthcare-related postings reflects strong demand for healthcare talent in the region. Sales-related postings totaled 7,626 and Computer and Math-related postings totaled 7,248, each accounting for 11% of all available job postings this period.
- A total of 1,803 postings offered signing bonuses, a decrease of 77 from the previous month.
Fifty-six percent, or 38,100, of available job postings pay an annual median wage between $25,000 and $75,000. Of these, 46% (17,839) require a high school diploma as the entry-level education, and 19% (7,303) require an associate or bachelor’s degree.
There are about 1,044 internship positions posted, either in-person or hybrid.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Austin MSA reported an unemployment rate of 3.1% in April 2025, a decrease of 0.3% from the prior month. The total number of unemployed in the Austin MSA is about 48,000, a decrease of 3,700 from March. In April 2025, there were 19,668 more available job postings than unemployed individuals, an increase of 6,911 from the prior month.
